The Handprints Project – A Sustainability Fellows Program
People often talk about our environmental footprint in negative terms, the Office of Sustainability wants to focus on the positive impact students can make with hands-on education and experience at MSU with a new program called the Handprints Project. Students from across campus will apply for a paid fellowship during the 2021/2022 academic year. Selected students will engage in co-curricular education designed to turn thoughts into action and empower students to become sustainability leaders on campus and in our community.
Sustainability Fellows will participate in seminars with local and national sustainability leaders to deepen their understanding of the sustainability challenges we face. Students will then form interdisciplinary teams and collaborate to co-create actionable, high-impact solutions for our campus focusing on two critical challenges: addressing climate change and lessening our overall environmental impact. Students will be mentored by Office of Sustainability staff and MSU faculty to make a positive impact on campus and accelerate the progress of MSU’s climate action and sustainability goals.
