Montanans First Professional Recording
We would like your help to create our first ever CD recording for our Montanans Choir! Due to the pandemic, we haven't been able to host live concerts, and many of our students are missing out on the opportunity to perform for others. This project would continue to motivate our students to work hard, and it would give them something specific to work towards throughout the semester. It will also give our students the chance to continue performing together, even if not for a live audience. One of our ACDA student leaders, Joseph Barrett, commented on what it would mean to him:
“As the events of COVID occurred, a large majority of us lost opportunities. […] Hard work and time we had put into those events was lost and never to be entertained. But we had also lost the idea of being with our friends and the thrill of performing. Music represents friendship, and excitement through hard work, and not having it be the same is disappointing.”
The goal of our group is to help our members prepare for professional success in choral musicianship. Through this recording, we can reach an audience beyond the Bozeman community. It would also provide a way for students to share music with their families who may be living out of state. We hope to begin recording in early March of 2021 and have a fully completed recording by April 22nd, 2021, to release as an end-of-the-semester celebration.
“It would be so meaningful to any single one of the members to be able to practice and perform together. Having this great in-person interaction of music would represent what music does for people, as it creates unity, friendship, and excitement.” - Joseph Barrett, ACDA Student Leader
This project will give our members a unique choral experience & prepare them to work around future obstacles. Your support will make this project feasible and give our students an amazing, unparalleled opportunity to perform. We truly hope we can give our group members a special performance experience, during a pandemic, that will continue to serve the mission of our student group for many years.
