MSU Hilleman Scholars Program - Honoring a Legacy & Shaping the Future
The MSU Hilleman Scholarship Program amplifies the land grant mission of Montana State University by ensuring more students from the Treasure State have access to the benefits and opportunities shaped through higher education.
Since 2016, Montana State University has offered the Hilleman Scholars Program to honor the legacy of Dr. Maurice Hilleman. A native of Miles City and a 1941 graduate of Montana State in microbiology, Dr. Hilleman is credited with saving more lives than any other medical scientist of the 20th century. His tenacious research and discovery over a 40-year career led to many of the vaccines we use today, improving public health and saving the lives of millions.
