JoAnn Paterson's colleague, Teresa Wicks, remembers JoAnn
Some faculty make a lasting impression. JoAnn Paterson, nursing faculty on the MSU College of Nursing Billings campus was beloved. JoAnn passed away five years ago but is remembered through a scholarship fund created in her name. With your help on Giving Day, we can honor her memory through a contribution to this Scholarship fund. We are halfway to full endowment of the fund. When we reach that goal, the scholarship will be awarded annually to a Billings Campus College of Nursing student.
The Billings campus is the College’s largest, with 216 nursing students each semester. Students participate in clinical learning at the city’s two hospitals, Billings Clinic and St. Vincent Healthcare, as well as primary care, public health and health care facilities in the area.
Scholarships help defer the costs of earning a Bachelor’s degree including tuition and fees, housing and other expenses. The percentage of nursing students eligible for need-based scholarships is higher on average than that of the University, so any scholarships the College can provide are put to good use. The JoAnn Paterson Memorial Scholarship will be an endowed scholarship that supports a Billings Campus College of nursing student.
Please join us on MSU’s first Giving Day to honor this faculty member and fully fund the JoAnn Paterson Memorial Scholarship.
