If I donate to Montanathon, how will my gift be used?

Donations on MSU Giving Day will directly pay for event costs to bring the Montana State University community together and make an even larger impact on the children at Shodair. A successful event is a crux of what brings people together to not only fundraise but also show support and build hope for the patients of Shodair Children's Hospital. The money raised by the MSU community before and during the Montanathon event in February will go directly to the new hospital facility in Helena for the patients at Shodair.

About Montana State University Dance Marathon

Montana State University Dance Marathon is not just about dancing, we are a student-led philanthropic organization that hosts and facilitates an event once a year to celebrate the MSU community's year-long fundraising efforts for Shodair Children's Hospital in Helena, Montana. Montanathon is a collection of students across MSU's campus who are invested in the well-being and success of the children at Shodair Children's Hospital.

Since 2018, Montanathon has donated over $60,000 to Shodair, raising $30,000 at each of our two successful events.

What happens at Montanathon?

Montanathon is a 6-hour event full of dancing, games, empowering speakers, and inspiring stories. Since 2018, Montanathon executive team has invited the entire MSU study body and community to attend the event and participate in fundraising for Shodair. This year, the event will be hosted in the Strand Union Building on February 27, 2022. We hope to raise over $30,000 for the children at Shodair and bring the MSU community together to celebrate the incredible work Shodair does every day.
