About our 2023 Giving Day project
By supporting Bounty of the Bridgers, you are giving to programs that combat student hunger and support academic success. We are raising funds this Giving Day to better serve the MSU community and meet the rising need we have seen for food support. Along with serving more students, these funds will go towards offering produce in our pantries across campus.
Our goals
Bounty of the Bridgers depends on donations from our community to provide basic needs for our campus population. Nationally, one in three college student experience food insecurity, and we see similar statistics at Montana State University. Inflation, COVID-19, and other financial stressors have only exacerbated this need in the past few years. This year we are setting an ambitious goal of $20,000 to keep up with the rising need. Hitting this goal will allow us to continue the level of operations that we have sustained in the past, while addressing the increasing need. These funds will also allow us to expand our services and continuously provide fresh produce options in our pantries.
This campaign has been generously supported with a $2,000 dollar-for-dollar match. The first $2,000 dollars will be doubled.
About our organization
Bounty of the Bridgers provides supplemental and emergency food assistance to students, faculty, staff, and family members at no cost. Bounty of the Bridgers started as an initiative led by students in 2017 and has since grown into a series of food security programs housed within the Office of Health Advancement. Bounty of the Bridgers now supports the health and well-being of the MSU campus community as well as the Gallatin College community through food pantries, food scholarships, the Grab ‘N Go Snack program, and more!
Your gift will have an impact
Meeting this goal will mean we can serve 600 unique households each month within the campus community. It will also support the longevity of the Grab ‘N Go Snack program and our Food Security Scholarship program. Research shows that food pantry use is associated with student retention. Your support of these services will feed students and directly impact their ability to graduate.
